Qualifications

In November 2001, at the age of eleven, she started her competitive grooming career. She competed in the Oster Career Start, garnishing a first place over seasoned groomers. Since then she has won many first places and has gone Best In Show multiple times.

Before going out own her own Krystal apprenticed under her mother Cheryl and other Master groomers to perfect her skills. Krystal specializes in hand-stripping sporting breeds.

Krystal graduated, with honors, from the Bridgewater State University in May 2013 with bachelor's degree in Business Management.

In 2014, Krystal reentered the competitive grooming circuit. Her first show back she went Best In Show Rising Star with an English Springer Spaniel. Throughout the remainder of the year she garnished several notable placements working her way into the top level, and is now competing against some of the top groomers in the world. She was nominated in 2013 for the Mobile Groomer of the Year and in 2014 she was nominated for Up and Coming Groomer of the Year. In 2015, Krystal Purcell was nominated for one of the most prestigious awards in the industrial, the Cardinal Crystal Groomer of the Year award. She finished the 2015 year ranked in the top 20 groomers in the country. In 2017, Krystal ended the competition year as a GroomTeam USA member, ranking as #5 all around, #2 in Sporting, and #6 in the all other purebred class.

Since then she has retired from competitive grooming to start her judging and educational careers. She also, entirely owner handled, finished her Springer Spaniel Taylor and ranked among some of the best springers in the country at the end of 2021. She has shown at Westminster twice and hopes to continue her journey with Taylor towards her Grand Championship
